Skate Wins Innovation Award in Cologne  Peg Perego’s revolutionary new Skate brought home the gold from this year’s baby show in Cologne. The Skate was the winner of the Innovation Award in the category of "World of Mobile Baby" at this year’s Kind + Jugend (“Child and Young One”) trade show. The Innovation Award is to Kind + Jugend what a medal is to the Olympics. It honors outstanding achievements.The honor is granted to an innovative new product that is outstanding in terms of its form, visual appeal, materials used, ease of use and technology. The Skate offers two-in-one versatility with quick and easy transformation from a carriage to a stroller. The aluminum chassis closes with the seat attached, is easy to maneuver and is extremely compact. The jury was comprised of representatives from international trade magazines, trade representatives and health and safety experts. The decisive criteria for selecting a winner are the product’s design, safety, user-friendliness, degree of innovation and quality of workmanship. The jury stated that it was “impressed by the multi-functionality and variability of the Skate, which can be converted from a conventional basin-type pram into a buggy or a baby carrier with only a few twists of the wrist.
